does anybody know if gum chewing is allowed in the meeetings anymore?
i think that is also a no,no .
They always give little digs about gum chewing being frowned upon. However, there I am chewing up a storm! Love chewing that gum!
I tell you, their list of don'ts is never ending! Awww... such freedom!

counting all the time he's here as 'field service' time!.
how convenient... and deceitful of you, theocrat!.

Theocrat... resisting is futile now. You will be absorbed.

many here are not jehovah's witnesses anymore because of one reason or another, but do you still preach?
do you still think that it is important for a christian to preach?
just wondering.
Stillajwexelder,
I like your style!

Nope! Only go out on service a couple of times a month to put something down in the silly eom report. The couple of times I give out mags and use the theme in front of the lit to leave with the people.
Will never ever do another back call or give a bible study again in my life!
Why would I want to help anyone enter an organization I'm desperate to leave?

.
i have had three phone calls this morning to attend the meeting.its supposed to be on arrmegedon and very important.!!.
does anyone know if this is a new light talk on this subject?

god says: ?blessed is the able-bodied man who puts his trust in jehovah, and whose confidence jehovah has become.?
a governing body that made decisions based on the scriptures and blessed by jehovah!
now, he is once again serving as a christian elder.
No one is free. Still inside this religious organization that presumes to be free, I see us all subjected to 5 meetings per week, and mind you that to be in good standing one must arrive 15 to 20 mins early to fraternize and stay 15 to 20 mins later for the same crap; and of course, if your man happens to have privileges within, oh brother!, a 2 hour meeting easily turns into 3 1/2 hrs easily. It's pure torture and stress, but they call it freedom, of course.
Also, let's not forget the meetings to go out on service. precious Saturday and/or Sunday mornings, and some weekday afternoons if you let them pressure you into it, where a 3 1/2-hour ordeal, including transportation time and preparation time, turns into you just being able to count maybe 1 or 1 1/2 hrs towards that silly little report at the end of each month. Hurray for freedom, huh?!!!
While the world in on Holiday, God forbid you don't use that time to go out on service! You'll be labeled 'spiritually weak'. Oh, such freedom!
Must only fraternize, socialize among other members of this Org. Watch out, though, because if you socialize with other than the ones labeled 'spiritually strong' then you're bad influence and become somewhat marked by these same individuals. Oh, what freedom!
Awwwww....and who can forget all the DON'TS among the JWs. Gosh, it's a never ending list!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But they're the most free and the happiest people in earth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH, RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i recently snuck a read of the km newsletter, which talked about assembly preparation.
aside from how ridiculous it is that they have to tell people not to push and shove (duhhh), i thought the quotes seemed a little, well, hokey.
i don't have it with me, so i can't quote it, but it was what i can guess is a commonly cited compliment: that the hotel manager/police/venue host said they are "thrilled to have jehovah's people" with them because "your people are so joyful" and so on.
It's gotta be a plain lie. Nobody talks the strange language of the WTBTS, other than its members.

had a special assembly day just this past saturday.

yeah, right!!!
Had a Special Assembly Day just this past Saturday. We were blessed (HA!!! Yeah, right!!!) with the presence with one of the Governing Body members.
He looked quite young; late 40s to early 50s to be exact. Kind of contradicts their theory that all of the 144,000 anointed ones were chosen prior to 1935, doesn't it?!!!
At any rate, the man didn't know Spanish and had his talks translated, which took us over the time limit. So, the recess at mid-day was cut short by 20 mins, and the end of the day went over 45 mins, due to the translation bit. By the way, the translator didn't do the best job either.
A lot meaning is always lost in translation. Plus, the English language cannot be translated to Spanish word for word. I didn't enjoy the translation stuff at all.
The day was boring as can be; nothing at all new, all the SSDD. Some poor kid, 10 years old, got baptized. Dozed at least once during each session.
Just about the only thing I enjoyed was the nice hotel stay and the nice evening dinners in the area. Time with my folks was good too; I never talk JW stuff and always have a really good time with them.
Anyone with recent assembly day(s) experiences?
DY - Looking forward to the day when I won't have to attend another assembly ever again!
